
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Fifteen children were taken to hospitals Wednesday afternoon, after pepper spray was discharged at a Chicago Public Schools building.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt said pepper spray was discharged in a classroom at Fairfield Elementary Academy at 62nd and Fairfield. The chemical was confined to that classroom.
This is the latest in a series of pepper spray and other aerosol discharges at CPS, including six incidents at Morgan Park High School on the South Side.
