CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Representatives of Chicago’s Night Ministry have been trying to help the homeless and others get through this week’s cold snap.
At Adams and Wells, a young man stands on the corner holding a sign that says "Homeless and Hungry. Please Help."
He tells us he's been sleeping on the Blue Line at night: "That sucks because it's dangerous. I've been robbed a few times. I have body lice that I caught on there. It's pretty brutal."
We ask how he ended up having to sleep on the L.
Stephan Koruba and Andrew Wojda on Thursday also tried to find a homeless woman to make sure she gets to an appointment to sign an apartment lease.
They didn’t find her.
"There's times when things feel discouraging almost every week, but that's part of it,” Koruba said.
"You laugh to keep from crying a bit," says Wojda.
"But you know, these folks give us a lot back. They give us a lot back," says Koruba.
