(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Warming centers are open across Cook County for people looking for a break from the weather.
The Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security lists hours and locations for public buildings hosting cold residents on its website.
Department spokeswoman Natalia Derevyanny said temperatures are a concern. The county already saw its first cold-related death of the season on Nov. 1, she notes.
In total, she says there were 59 cold-related deaths in Cook County last winter, with the latest stretching into May.
