CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Each Tuesday we look at people and organizations doing positive things to help others.  With this week's Difference Maker, here's WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya.

“I really like baking.”

Eric Seo of Woodridge is 17-years old and will be a senior at St. Rita High School.  When the pandemic hit, he started to think about what he could do to help those in need.

“I’m a teenager. I don’t really have money to give. I don’t really have time to give because, for the safety of my family, so I figured that I could sell excess bread to my neighborhood and donate the proceeds," he said.

And he has.

“We’ve raised around $2,000 for the Greater Chicago Food Depository and My Block, My Hood, My City’s small business relief fund," Seo said.

Seo’s customers are mostly neighbors, he said.

As for a possible future in baking, Eric Seo plans to keep it as a hobby.

“It’s nice to see a teenager reaching out and doing what he can do," she said.

Eric Seo is a Difference Maker.
