CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- During the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, the DuPage County Health Department reminds residents help is available.
As the impact of COVID-19 continues, the DuPage County Health Department is offering 24/7 services for those struggling with stress, substance use or other health concerns.
"Not everybody, you know, has a mental health crisis during the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.," said Lori Carnahan, Director Of Behavioral Health, DuPage County Health Department.
Carnahan said both crisis and behavioral health services are just a phone call away.
"They are doing a brief risk assessment over the phone, making sure that person is safe at the moment, and then just really trying to meet their needs and prevent interventions over the phone in any way that they can," she said.
Those experiencing a crisis should call (630) 627-1700, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or visit the Crisis Services website..
Those seeking help from Behavioral Health Services can call (630) 682-7400 or visit the Behavioral Health website. Treatment programs are offered at their public health centers in Wheaton, Addison, Westmont and Lombard.
