EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An elementary school was briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday after a vehicle fleeing from a shooting crashed near the school in north suburban Evanston.
Police said a silver-colored Jeep was seen fleeing the area of shots fired near the 2100 block of Dewey Avenue, Evanston police said in a statement.
Police said the area was secure and that two people of interest were in custody.
A spokesman for Evanston police did not immediately reply to a request for additional details. A call to Orrington Elementary School went unanswered.
