CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- What kind of wine should you pair with your favorite pasta?
Certified wine expert, Ron Breitstein has this week’s food and wine suggestions.
There are so many wines that go well with pasta, and many different pairings will work delightfully.
To help you along your journey, here are some suggestions that should be pleasing every time:
- If you are a Fettuccine Alfredo fan, try a rich, oaky Chardonnay from Sonoma County, California
- For penne with vodka sauce, enjoy a Grignolino wine from Piedmont, Italy
- For linguini with clam sauce, try a Falanghina wine from the Campania region in Italy
- Pasta al Pesto is ideal with Sauvignon Blanc from the Alto Adige region in the mountains of Northern Italy
- For traditional spaghetti and meatballs, a delicious Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva will go beautifully
- If your go-to is lasagna, a Chianti Classico from Tuscany pairs well
Feel free to experiment with different wines with different pastas. It will be a fun experience.
