CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — So. You’re spending some quality time with your spouse or partner as you both work from home during the COVID-19 crisis.
How do couples keep the peace?
Jessica Schaeffer, senior director at LaSalle Network, joined the Noon Business Hour to offer strategies. She herself is working at home with her spouse.
“I think we finally have it down after four weeks,” she told WBBM Newsradio’s Cisco Cotto.
Among her tips:
—If space is limited, work out arrangements with your partner if one of you needs to use a certain area of the home for a video conference or phone call.
—Have meals together as a couple, or family. “You’ve got to look at the upside of things,” Schaeffer says.
—Share childcare responsibilities.
—Don’t expect your partner to help you with your work. “That’s probably a recipe for disaster for anybody who’s been married for awhile.”
