CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Former Vice President Joe Biden was here in Chicago, trying to clarify his record on civil rights after last night Democratic Presidential Debate.Presidential hopeful Joe Biden was addressing the Labor luncheon for Rainbow PUSH, but he clearly wanted to first answer rival and California Senator Kamala Harris’ criticism about his past positions on busing.
Biden said he never opposed voluntary busing to desegregate schools. He said that the short time in which they had to make statements during the debate could not "do justice to a lifetime committed to civil rights."During his other remarks, Biden repeatedly referenced being by President Barack Obama’s side and the good work they did together, which is a common tactic he has used in his campaign.
