CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lori Lightfoot is responding to President Donald Trump's latest slights against Chicago.
On Monday, President Trump lobbed insults at Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson during a speech at McCormick Place, saying the city's violence is out of control.
On Friday, he did the same, on Twitter.
A morning tweet said that Chicago will never stop its crime wave with the current superintendent of police.
Chicago will never stop its crime wave with the current Superintendent of Police. It just won't happen! Thank you to Kevin Graham and all of the GREAT Chicago Police Officers I just had the privilege to meet. Tremendous crime fighting potential if allowed to do your thing!

Mayor Lightfoot fired back on Twitter, saying Trump shouldn't really bring up the topic of crime: "The crime wave you should be concerned about is the one you are perpetrating against the American people from the White House."
