Live Tracker: Bears Trimming Roster To 53

(670 The Score) These are the days that NFL coaches and executives dread.

All 32 NFL teams are required to cut their rosters from 90 players to the 53-man limit by Saturday at 3 p.m. CT. That means 1,184 players will be left without jobs, with many seeing their dreams die.

"The next couple days are going to be difficult," Bears coach Matt Nagy said Thursday night. "That's a part of life. Ninety players down to 53, plus a couple for the practice squad. But I like where we're at.

"We grew as a team, we grew as a family, we got better."

The Bears will have their 53-man roster solidified by Saturday afternoon. Ahead of that, follow along with the roster cuts being reported from Halas Hall.

Friday

-- The Bears didn't offically file any roster moves on the NFL transaction wire Friday, which is in line with how they've conducted business in the past. It allows them to survey around the league for potential roster additions that could influence their 53-man roster.

-- Once the dust settled for Friday, the Bears went to work with their roster cuts.

-- Offensive linemen Marquez Tucker and Joe Lowery were waived, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

-- More moves were made in Lake Forest. The Bears waived receiver Tanner Gentry, a source said. He won't be signed back to the practice squad for a third season.

-- The Bears will waive receiver Marvin Hall, NFL Media reported. Hall had said recently of his place on the roster bubble: "I do what Marvin Hall can do. If it's good enough, it's good enough. If it's not, we're back to the drawing board."

-- Rookie defensive lineman Jalen Dalton has been waived, a source said. A North Carolina product, he's in consideration for the Bears' practice squad.

-- There's no news on the kicking position yet. Eddy Pineiro remains with the Bears, a source said. The team will evaluate other options who potentially become available Saturday, but Pineiro is in line to become Chicago's kicker.

Saturday

-- A few notable cuts were made as the Bears began their morning. Jonathan Bullard, a 2016 third-round pick, is being waived, NFL Media reported. While strong against the run in 2018, he didn't record a sack and fell out of favor in the defensive line rotation. The Bears are also cutting rookie cornerback Stephen Denmark, a seventh-round pick who missed most of the preseason with an injury. It's worth noting Chicago didn't try to stash him on injured reserve.

-- The Bears are waiving running back Ryan Nall, a source said. He could land on the team's practice squad for a second season.

-- As the Bears prepare to evaluate kicking options, the Packers have made their first kicker cut. Sam Ficken has been waived and is now available to be claimed. He lost out to veteran Mason Crosby. Ficken was 1-for-1 on field-goal attempts and converted all five point-after tries in the preseason.

-- The Bears are waiving edge rusher Kylie Fitts, a source said. He was a sixth-round pick a year ago. The Bears will look to get Fitts onto their practice squad.

-- We've surpassed the 3 p.m. CT deadline for teams to submit their 53-man rosters. Many bubble players are hearing the good news. Among those for the Bears: linebacker Josh Woods, who has won a spot after a strong showing this preseason.
