CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Tucked away on Chicago's Northwest Side is a candy company that features items often found in glass candy jars.

Primrose Candy has been around since 1928. Kimberly Puch is the fourth generation to run it. As a kid, she grew up surrounded by candy.

"It was exciting. I don't really know anything different at this point," she told WBBM Newsradio.

Primrose can crank out 2 million pounds of candy per month. A work force of 150 nearly doubles in size during the busy Christmas season. Typically, the company will make candy for customers that will put their name on the product.

"It's something to be proud of -- that we're still here," Puch said. "We're still hanging out and we're doing really good over here."
