At least one Chicago medical office is telling its patients: No handshaking, please.
The email from Medical Dermatology Associates in River North to its patients says: "Per recommendation of our affiliated hospitals, Northwestern Memorial and Advocate Illinois Masonic, (we are) exercising extra precaution in hopes of keeping staff and patients healthy ... We have a 'no handshake' policy."
Medical Dermatology Associates Practice Manager Oriane Williams says 140 patients come through every day. She said Tuesday the office is being extra cautious by banning handshaking in hopes of tamping down coronavirus.
