CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- More than 250,000 businesses and households across the Chicago area were without power Tuesday evening, a day after a "derecho" storm system blew through the region.
Wind speeds, at their worst, reached 100 mph, and a tornado touched down in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. No injuries were reported.
ComEd officials say power may not be restored for everyone until Saturday afternoon.
In Indiana, utility NIPSCO reported outages for 48,000 customers on Tuesday morning.
