(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A North Shore artist who has been called a prodigy is celebrating the return of her most famous painting.
Akiane Kramarik painted "Prince of Peace," an image of Jesus, when she was 8.
The following year she was on "Oprah," talking about the painting and her talent.
Later, the family says the painting was stolen, returned damaged, resold by mistake and kept out of sight.
A few weeks ago, the "Prince of Peace" made its way back to her gallery. She saw it for the first time in 16 years.
"Everything came back to me, every memory that I had with this painting, every emotion. I lost four teeth while I was painting this painting,” Kramarik said, laughing.
