Residents Ask Why Managers Didn't Tell Them About Rape In Garage

Police Tape

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Residents of a South Loop apartment complex say they are upset the management didn't send out an alert after police say a woman was sexually assaulted in the garage early Tuesday.

The way residents apparently found out about the sexual assault of a 35-year-old woman in the parking garage of the Roosevelt Collection: word-of-mouth.

"I know it's a very scary subject, but I don't think it's that hard to just shoot out a very straightforward, protective safety email to residents," says one resident, who asked not to be identified.

"I think everyone would have appreciated hearing it from the management before the news in the first place, but at least a follow-up would've been appreciated."

The resident says she's lived at the Roosevelt Collection for five years.

Chicago Police say they're still looking for the offender.

WBBM has asked the management of the Roosevelt Collection apartments for comment.
