CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Evanston Township High School District 202 and Evanston/Skokie School District 65 will both be closing for a month in an attempt to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Classes will be held as scheduled in both districts on Friday, but will transition to “e-learning” sessions next week, according to statements from both districts.
Monday will be a staff institute day for ETHS staff, and will not be considered an attendance day for students, ETHS officials said. Their e-learning days begin Tuesday.
District 65 students will begin their e-learning program on Monday, District 65 officials said.
Though there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 in Evanston thus far, buildings in both districts will be closed to students, families and staff until April 12, officials said.
Practices, events and activities have been canceled for students of both districts until further notice as well.
