FRANKLIN PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Authorities have lifted a lockdown after a student was stabbed Tuesday at East Leyden High School in northwest suburban Franklin Park.
One student stabbed another about 9:30 a.m. on the school’s campus at 3400 Rose St. in Franklin Park, according to Rosemont Public Safety Supt. Donald Stephens III and a letter to parents from Leyden High School District 212.
**Correction on the location of occurrence**occurred on campus, exact location is yet to be determined. Furthermore, East Leyden remains on lockdown, offender in custody & the victim has been transported to an area hospital. At this time, no other reported victims or offenders.

September 24, 2019 The suspect was arrested on school grounds and the victim was taken to a hospital, officials said. No other victims or suspects have been reported.
The lockdown was lifted by about 11:30 a.m., according to Stephens. Students will be dismissed early for the remainder of the day and after school activities have been canceled.
"Lockdown has been lifted at East Leyden High School. School will be dismissed shortly for the remainder of the day, including all after school activities. Franklin Park Police are on the scene to assist parents reunite with their children" he said in a tweet.

September 24, 2019 Counselors and social workers will be available to speak with students at the school Tuesday and Wednesday, district officials said.
