CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man was hurt after someone in a stolen vehicle fired gunshots Thursday in Little Village on the Southwest Side.
The 27-year-old was traveling in a vehicle at about 6:50 p.m. in the 4000 block of West 28th Street when he stopped at a stop sign at Komensky Avenue, Chicago police said.
A green SUV pulled up alongside, and someone in the front passenger seat opened fire, police said. The man suffered lacerations to his face from debris, but did not suffer a gunshot wound.
He drove himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
Someone standing next to a vehicle on the street at 28th and Komensky fired shots at the green SUV as it sped off, police said. The unknown gunman then ran into a home on the block.
The people in the SUV drove to the 3500 block of West 30th Street, where they fled from the vehicle, police said. An investigation found that the SUV had been stolen.
No other injuries were reported, police said. Area Central detectives are investigating.
