Person Fatally Stuck By CTA Train In Rogers Park: Police

 Crime Police Tape

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A person died after being struck by a CTA train Thursday in Rogers Park on the North Side.

Officers responded to a “medical emergency” on the tracks at about 5:45 p.m. at the Jarvis Avenue CTA Station, 1523 W. Jarvis Ave., and found a female on the tracks who was pronounced dead at the scene, Chicago police said.

The woman is believed to have intentionally jumped in front of the train, police said.

CTA suspended service to Red, Purple and Yellow line trains to allow for a police investigation, the agency said. At about 8 p.m., Red and Purple Line trains resumed service, but were running with residual delays.

Yellow Line trains resumed regular service at about 9:40 p.m., the agency said.
