Wanted Fugitive Caught In Bolingbrook After Three-Hour Police Search

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A wanted fugitive from Alabama was caught in Bolingbrook after a police officer spotted the suspect in a small wooded area. 

The search for suspect Raheem Tolbert, 27, lasted about three hours, during which time the Jane Addams Middle School was put on lockdown, according to Bolingbrook Police.


Officers initially received notice that Tolbert was in the Bolingbrook area Sept. 12 because he had relatives in the area. Police said Tolbert is wanted on a fugitive warrant for Failure to Appear, Escape in the Third Degree from Lee County in Alabama in 2018.

At 11:50 a.m. this morning, an officer spotted Tolbert near Balstrode Park at Lily Field Lane and Thackeray Drive. Tolbert fled from the officer. After multiple units responded and set up a police perimeter, Tolbert was captured at 3:03 p.m., police said.
