CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The weather might be getting warmer over the next few days, but Chicago's water commissioner advises residents to keep water trickling from faucets for a bit longer.
Commissioner Randy Conner recommends keeping a trickle in at least one faucet through the winter.
While the weather might temporarily get much warmer, he said, more cold weather is on the way and the ground will remain frozen for some time.
Conner said the cost of running the water is far less than having a plumber come to your home to thaw a frozen pipe or paying for the repairs needed after a pipe bursts.
