(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The White Sox and the New York Yankees were scheduled to play the first-ever regular season Major League Baseball game in Iowa this August next to the field where the classic 1989 movie "Field of Dreams" was shot.
With the uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the man who runs the "Field of Dreams" says he's ready for whatever happens.
Roman Weinberg is director of operations for the company that owns the site in Dyersville, Iowa.
He said construction is moving ahead on the building of an 8,000-seat stadium but admits COVID-19 could force a postponement.
Weinberg says even if the game is delayed, he believes it will eventually be played. He says when they play it, the fans WILL come.
