CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow will spread across the area through mid-morning, creating slipepry conditions particularly on elevated surfaces such as bridges, overpasses and ramps. One to two inches are possible along and south of Interstate 88. According to the NWS, most of the snow will accumulate on grass and elevated surfaces, but slick conditions are possible on pavement as temperatures are in the upper 20s to low 30s.

— NWS Chicago (@NWSChicago) April 15, 2020Multiple significant accidents have occurred on area roadways, including a multi-vehicle crash on the Kennedy Expressway involving at least 50 vehicles.
The National Weather Service said snow will diminish as temperatures rise above freezing by mid-morning. Isolated to scattered snow showers this afternoon will not accumulate.

— NWS Chicago (@NWSChicago) April 15, 2020Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to get up into the low 40's, with real-feels in the 30's, according to Accuweather Meteorologist Dean Devore. Wednesday night it will be partly cloudy and cold, with temperatures in the 20's.
Expect another round of accumulating snow on Thursday night into early Friday. Several inches are possible along and south of Interstate 80, with one half inch to 2 inches farther north. Temperatures should be back up into the 40's by Friday afternoon.
