CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Cubs host their home opener at Wrigley Field on Monday, April 8 at 1:20 p.m. against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The opener kicks off the first homestand of the season with a three-game series against the Pirates, on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
A new season brings a new fan experinece with the addition of the upper level concourse with more food and beverage options, seating in the right and left Terrace Level, a seat renumbering system, and expanded free Wi-Fi service, according to the team.
"The seats up there have always been great from a view standpoint, but underserved from an amenities standpoint," said Cubs Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Colin Faulkner.
He said four concessions patios have been added behind the seating areas of the upper deck; and the number of restrooms have gone from two to four.
"In the past, a lot of fans needed to come downstairs to get concessions, use the restroom and now with the restrooms and concessions that we added to the upper level, they will no longer need to go downstairs to find what they are looking for," Faulkner said.
The Cubs are also bringing back the 10/Sixity ticket program. The team offers 60 lower-level Terrace seats priced at $10 for all 2019 regular season home games. Fans can submit an online registration through MLB’s Ballpark app or by visiting www.cubs.com/10sixtytickets.
