CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Flash flooding has already occurred in some south suburban creeks, roadways and underpasses and is expected to continue over the next several hours, according to the National Weather Service.
About 3:50 a.m. Thursday the weather service issued at flash flood warning for East and Central Will County as well as Southeastern Cook County.
Strong to severe storms will be possible today, mainly for areas along and north of I-80. While storms could happen as early as late this aftn, the main threat for storms will be in the evening hours. Damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall are the main threats today. pic.twitter.com/jAhgZI32Mc

June 27, 2019 Persons near streams and creeks or in flood prone areas should move to higher ground immediately, the weather service said.
The warning lasts until 8:30 a.m., the weather service said.
The National Weather Service also issued flood warning for Eastern Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois, Newton County in northwestern Indiana, Southern Porter County in northwestern Indiana, Lake County in northwestern Indiana, and Northern Jasper County in northwestern Indiana. This replaces the flash flood warnings previously in effect. The flood warning for these areas are in effect until 4:45 p.m.
