CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 54-year-old man is facing felony charges after explosives were found in his vehicle and residence in north suburban Genoa.

Joseph D. Walsh is charged with three counts of unlawful use of weapons, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Police responded to calls of a person displaying a gun to another motorist just before 6 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue, the sheriff’s office said. A preliminary investigation found an explosive device in Walsh’s vehicle, and Walsh was taken into custody.

The next day, police executed a search warrant at Walsh’s residence and found more explosive devices, firearms and ammunition, the sheriff’s office said. He was hit with additional charges and is being held at DeKalb County Jail.
