DELPHI, Ind. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Indiana State Police are to release new information Monday afternoon about the 2017 murders of two teenage girls in a wooded area north of Indianapolis.
Police are calling the new information a "significant update" and that the investigation is going in a new direction. State police said Superintendent Doug Carter will make the announcement at 11 a.m. CST.
The bodies of 14-year-old Liberty "Libby" German and 13-year-old Abigail "Abby" Williams were found in February 2017 on a hiking trail near Delphi, about 60 miles (95 kilometers) northwest of Indianapolis.
Libby's mother spoke recently with CBS 4 Indianapolis.
The case has remained unsolved for more than two years.
