SPRINGFIELD (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Sunday that there are 1,462 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 14 additional confirmed deaths.
Of those who died, a man in his 30s, a woman in her 40s, two men in their 50s and a woman in her 60s, all from Cook County; a man and a woman in their 70s from DuPage County; a man in his 60s from Lake County; a man in his 20s from McHenry County; two women and a man in their 80s from Lake County; a man in his 60s from Madison County; and a woman in her 70s from Williamson County.
IDPH currently is reporting a total of 261,371 coronavirus cases, including 8,309 deaths, in 102 counties in the state. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Sept. 6 through Sept. 12 is 3.7%. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 46,890 specimens for a total of 4,735,866.
As of last night, 1,422 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 328 patients were in the intensive care unit and 136 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
