(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A matador might be needed in far northwest suburban Barrington Hills after Village officials reported a bull has been on the loose for several days.
The bull was originally spotted in the area of Route 62 and Old Sutton Road, but photos captured by a resident’s security camera showed the brown and white bull about a half-mile north of that spot.
Officials estimated the bull weighs about 1,600 pounds. They said that while the bull might seem friendly, residents who spot the animal should not approach it and should instead call 911 immediately.
The bull is believed to have escaped from a resident’s property. It has a tag on one of its ears, which indicates that it could be from a farm.
In a post to its Facebook page, the Village of Barrington Hills wrote that it was unlikely that the bull would make an appearance at Barrington Hills’ fall festival.
No name has been reported for the bull.
