Three vehicles became “fully engulfed in flames” when they crashed Tuesday night on the inbound Kennedy Expressway in the Norwood Park neighborhood.
State troopers responded to the inbound lanes at Natoma Avenue around 10:25 p.m. after three vehicles struck a light pole and became fully engulfed in flames, Illinois state police said.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene and at least one other person was injured, state police said.
The roadway was shut down for several hours and reopened around 3:35 a.m.
