CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are looking for armed robbers who struck eight times in less than an hour on the north side early this morning.
The victims range from a 78-year-old man to a 19-year-old woman. Police said the common thread among the 11 people is that they were out walking when they were approached by at least three armed robbers who escaped in a dark-colored car.
It started in West Lakeview at 12:50 a.m. at Wolfram and Wolcott and continued throughout Ravenswood and North Center until appearing to end at 1:40 a.m. near Wellington and Clark.
Police said in several of the crimes, the robbers hit their victims, including the 78-year-old who was taken to the hospital in good condition after being attacked by six males.
