
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A boy is in the hospital after a shooting in Bronzeville Monday night.
Chicago Police said the 12-year-old was shot multiple times and suffered wounds to his chest, abdomen and arm. He was taken to the hospital initially in fair condition. It happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, inside a home near 45th and Drexel.
Police said the boy’s family knows who shot him, but no one is in custody.
The most recent police statistics showed there have been 68 shootings in the 2nd district so far this year. That’s up 31 percent over this time last year.
