CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A pre-teen and a teenage girl are under arrest and charged as part of a two-girl crime wave on the North Side.
Police said the suspects are 12 and 17-year- old girls. They’re charged with retail theft for stealing thousands of dollars in items from several stores in the Near North Side, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park and Uptown neighborhoods.
The incidents happened between November 15 and this week. The girls were arrested Thursday in the 4500 block of North Broadway-a block away from stores they’re accused of stealing from three times this week.
The 12-year old is also accused of stealing from a business on the Near West Side, according to police. The 17-year-old also faces a robbery charge.
