26-year-old woman in custody after fatal crash on South Side

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A woman driving a motorcycle was killed in a crash Saturday night in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Authorities said they have a driver in custody after the crash, which took place near 69th Street and South Chicago Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m.

A 26-year-old woman, who was driving a dark-colored car, hit the front end of a motorcycle and sent the female motorcyclist to the hospital. Officials said the motorcyclist was declared dead at the hospital, while the driver of the car was listed in good condition with minor injuries.

Police said both vehicles were headed northbound on Chicago Avenue.

Officials did not release any details about the woman who was killed.
