3 CPD officers hurt in South Side crash

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO)- Three Chicago police officers and a civilian were injured in a crash earlier this morning in the Burnside neighborhood.

Police said a car speeding along 95th street attempted to turn south on Cottage Grove shortly after 1 a.m. lost control, hitting a squad car that had stopped at a traffic light.

Paramedics took three officers to the University of Chicago Hospital, one for a broken pelvis and the others for back and neck pain. All were in stable condition.

Police said the driver was also taken to the hospital. He or she was in good condition and will be ticketed, the department says.
