4 people including 3 cops injured during police-involved Englewood shooting

Fire officials did not say anyone was shot but it was unclear what injuries they suffered during the shooting in the 5800 block of South Shields Avenue.

A police-involved shooting erupted in Englewood early Wednesday on the South Side, according to the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

The shooting happened in the 5800 block of South Shields Avenue, COPA said.

Officers called for a “10-1" otherwise known as an office in distress call in the area shortly after 5 a.m., according to police scanner traffic.

It was not known if anyone was hurt and a spokesperson for the fire department could not be reached.

Chicago police haven’t yet released any details related to the shooting.
