A stop-work order has been issued for a proposed Joliet cannabis farm.
This comes just a week before city hearings are scheduled about the farm. The Herald News reports there were setbacks last week when the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Plan Commission recommended against issuing the needed permits, variances and zoning for that farm.
In the zoning board hearing on April 21, Joliet's planning director confirmed the city is trying to deal with construction activity that was done without needed permits. But he emphasized the work was unrelated to the cannabis operation.
