(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 26-year-old man charged with impersonating a Chicago police sergeant on the Near West Side is the same person who infamously dressed up as a cop in 2009 while he was 14 years old.

Vincent Richardson of Lisle faces three felony counts of false personation of an officer, Chicago police said Thursday.

He allegedly impersonated an officer on Jan. 14, Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, police said.

Richardson was arrested Wednesday in Lisle after he was identified as the individual who impersonated a Chicago Police Department sergeant in the 2300 block of West Jackson Boulevard, police said.

Details weren’t available, and Richardson is due in court Friday.

Richardson made national headlines in 2009, when he fooled officers at a South Side station, was assigned a radio, drove a squad car and made an arrest -- at the age of 14. Richardson was arrested two more times for police impersonation.

He told the Tribune in 2014: "I feel like honestly that I was put on Earth to make my community safer, and I saw an opportunity and I feel like that was my destiny.”
