(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Wisconsin women led police on a high-speed chase in the western suburbs Tuesday after allegedly stealing more than $1,200 in cologne and perfume from a retail store, prosecutors say.

Oak Brook police officers were patrolling the Shops of Oak Brook around 4 p.m. when they reportedly saw a woman get into the passenger side of a Kia automobile after running out of Nordstrom Rack with a backpack. A second woman with a backpack exited the store and got in the driver’s seat.

When police attempted to pull over the vehicle, the Kia began leading officers on a high-speed chase on Route 83, I-88, I-290 and I-294, at times traveling at more than 100 miles per hour. The suspects’ vehicle was stopped on I-294 after police deployed “spike strips,” officials said.

Both women were taken into custody. Police allegedly recovered a duffel bag in the car with 21 bottles of cologne and perfume valued at $1,273.

Aaliyah Guy, 24, and 25-year-old Kaphree Jordan, both of Milwaukee, have been charged with burglary and retail theft, DuPage County prosecutors said. Jordan also faces one count of aggravated fleeing and eluding.

Bond was set at $40,000 and $50,000 for Guy and Jordan, respectively, on Tuesday. Their next court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 9.

“The allegations that after committing a burglary at the Nordstrom Rack, the defendants led authorities on a high-speed chase in excess of 100 mph, demonstrates their complete disregard for the rule of law,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said. “This will not be tolerated in DuPage County and will be aggressively prosecuted.”
