(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — For the second summer in a row, ALDI is making things a bit cheaper with more than 250 items ringing up a little less.

One Aldi customer said she only goes to ALDI for certain things.

“Like the salad, the cheese, the coffee, the creamer for the coffees.”

Aldi says the prices will be anywhere between 10 cents to a $1.50 less depending on the item.

Some of the items that'll see discounts include USDA choice black Angus Sirloin steak, granola bars and frozen blueberries.

“ALDI is always looking for ways to help customers save money, but with more experts warning of persistent inflation, the time was right to deliver even greater discounts on our already low prices for the second year in a row,” said Dave Rinaldo, President at ALDI U.S. in a released statement.

“We don’t want food prices to hold people back from getting together with friends and family or spending time outdoors this season.”

One mom of three, Nicky, said she's looking forward to the summer discounts.

“I just bought chicken. Frozen fruit would be fantastic if it's even cheaper because three kids means we spend a lot of money on fruit and cheaper fruit would be fantastic.”

Nicky said the discounts would keep her coming back.

“I already shop here because it's the cheapest place in town, but that would definitely keep me shopping here.”

ALDI with U.S. headquarters in west suburban Batavia, also recently announced that it plans to open 800 new stores across the country by 2028.
