(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Topgolf facility in Naperville off Route 88 continues to be a hot spot for gun arrests, but one official says the public shouldn’t be concerned.

Police say they arrested 31-one-year-old Antwan Lee of Chicago this week after an officer spotted a gun in his car. Lee was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon -- the seventh person to be arrested on gun-related charges at Topgolf since September.

Naperville Police Commander Rick Krakow says it’s about foot patrols.

“Officers are doing proactive work in parking lots all across our city, but specifically up at Topgolf is where the proactive police work is yielding some gun arrests,” he said.

Another arrest happened more than a week ago, when an Indiana man was taken into custody after police spotted a gun inside his car.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said there’s no reason to think Topgolf is to blame. Rather, he said, police are doing their job by busting people for illegally possessing guns.

“Topgolf in Napeville is not an unsafe place. It’s a very safe community,” he said.
