CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Architectural Artifacts Inc. has been in Chicago for 37 years — first in the Ravenswood neighborhood and most recently at 1065 N. Orleans St. Now, though, founder Stuart Grannen said they are taking the operation to Texas.
Grannen recently purchased an 1880s cowboy saloon, dance hall, farmhouse and three acres of lan, which will serve as Architectural Artifacts’ new home.
Over the years, he’s sold over 100,000 items, including tables and benches from the Bank of France and pieces from the Chicago Stock Exchange.
“It has been a truly extraordinary 37 years in Chicago for Architectural Artifacts and myself,” Grannen said in a statement announcing the move. “I will still have a foot or two in Chicago. Please stay tuned for what is next.”
The store’s final day in Chicago will be April 15.
