The two "Wicked" stars stopped by the Art Institute of Chicago Tuesday to pose for a photo to promote an upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's musical “Sunday in the Park with George” in London.
An Instagram post this week features Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey sitting on chairs in front of Georges Seurat's painting “A Sunday on La Grand Jatte,” one of the museum’s most popular works.
The piece served as inspiration for Sondheim's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical, which opened on Broadway in 1984, starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters.
In a Facebook post, the Art Institute confirmed that the pair stopped by and said the museum is "happy to know this masterpiece is a continued source of inspiration for artists."
The revival starring Grande and Bailey will feature a book by James Lapine, music by Sondheim and direction by Marianne Elliott, with design by Tom Scutt.
It opens in London in the summer of 2027. Tickets are set to go on sale in May of 2026.
