Six people were wounded in one shooting. Chicago police said there was a shootout between two people at about 1:45 a.m. near Madison Street and Menard Avenue in the Austin neighborhood.

The victims range in age from 15 to 25. Most were in good condition when they were taken to the hospital.

An earlier mass shooting — also on the West Side — left eight people wounded. Chicago police said it was also a shootout between two people near Hastings and Loomis Streets in Little Italy.  Among the wounded were five women and three men.

The oldest victim was a 74-year-old woman, and the youngest victims were 18. Most of the shooting victims were in fair condition.
