CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The Aurora City Council is expected to approve a proposal next week to allow a five-story senior housing building to be constructed at Fox Valley Mall.
Developer Matt Phillips told the Aurora City Council members that the proposed senior housing building on the northern side of Fox Valley Mall will be more than just a destination place to live. He calls it “concierge living.”
“If somebody wants to have a meal plan, they can sign up for that. They can have a choice as to their activities and it really, in our mind, drives a more active senior resident,” Phillips said.
The complex would be near three other market-priced apartment buildings that are currently under construction. It also would have more than 100 independent one-and-two bedroom apartments, dozens of assisted living studio units and 24 memory care units.
