Steer clear of car washes that take you to the cleaners, with help from Jay Elliott of the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio.

Everyone loves a clean vehicle, but be sure to check ratings and reviews before choosing a car wash. A little homework can save you time and money.

If you experience damage, like broken side mirrors, bent antennas, or scratched paint, don’t assume the business isn’t responsible because of a posted disclaimer. That’s not always the case.

Always inspect your vehicle before leaving, take photos of any issues, and report problems right away.

If you sign up for a monthly plan, use a credit card instead of a debit card for added protection, and make sure you understand the renewal and cancellation terms before you enroll.
