Heads up: scammers are “employing” new techniques in an attempt to swindle summer job seekers. Jordan Wright with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.

Job scams remain one of the riskiest frauds in the U.S., sometimes costing thousands of dollars and exposing sensitive identity details. Scammers may send fake job offers, conduct phony interviews, or ask for upfront payments or banking information.

To stay safe, research employers, never pay to get hired, and don’t share financial information with someone you don’t know.
