PEORIA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Bradley University student from the far northwest suburbs has a new set of wheels after making a near-impossible full-court shot.

It was during the Bradley men’s basketball game Sunday night, but it was a putt - not a basket - that stunned the home crowd.

Freshman Trevor Frey hit a golf ball 94-feet into a small hole in a poster across the entire court.

He told WMBD-TV in Peoria he’s never golfed before.

“The only part that I remember is it going in the hole, and then everything else is a blur. I remember Kaboom! coming over, but after that you’re just jumping up and down high-fiving people, celebrating,” Frey said.

A clip of the seemingly impossible putt and the celebration afterwards with Bradley’s mascot and screaming fans  has gone viral.

Frey now has a brand new Mazda CX-50 thanks to a Peoria car dealer who sponsored the contest.
