Bruce DuMont, founder of Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications, has died

DuMont was 81-years-old when he passed away on Wednesday, according to a statement by the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

DuMont made his first appearance on radio in 1946 while studying at Columbia College Chicago.

He went to work at many local radio and TV stations.

DuMont then founded the Museum of Broadcast Communications, which opened in 1987 in Chicago's Loop.
